TackleAfrica Coaching ManualTackleAfrica is extremely pleased to announce the launch of its new Coaching Manual. The manual consists of a series of specially designed coaching drills that not only improve football skills but also the players' understanding of HIV/AIDS. The manual is being officially launched during the charity's project in Ghana during the African Cup of Nations in January 2008 and will enable other volunteers and partner organisations to carry out coaching projects that help to teach young people in Africa about HIV in an innovative and engaging way. The manual contains 21 different drills that can be used in coaching sessions. The drills, which were developed by TackleAfrica coaching volunteers during a series of football projects in East and West Africa, and are designed to be put into practice in the most basic of surroundings. TackleAfrica will disseminate the manual to and train its local partners across Africa, providing them with the ability to carry out HIV orientated football coaching courses on an ongoing basis. TackleAfrica works with both established HIV community projects and football projects that want to add HIV education to their existing programme. If you are interested in becoming a TackleAfrica coach the charity also trains UK based volunteer coaches how to use the manual, enabling them to take part in regular coaching projects across Africa. This manual will be the first of many as our volunteers devise new drills and identify the most appropriate drills for different audiences. If you would like to find out more about manual, or would be interested in being becoming one of our volunteer coaches, please email us at info @ tackleafrica.org |
